We believe that everyone deserves to have a dignified, peaceful death.
Death with Dignity-Albany is a new organization, having been established in early 2015, and in a few short months has grown to several hundred members. We provide a forum for people to discuss end of life issues. We also provide a launching pad for advocacy for legislation that expands the available choices at the end of life. We are based in Albany, NY and serve the Capital Region of New York State and beyond.
Meetings are free and open to the public, and are announced on our website, through our email list and local media, as well as being listed in online media calendars. Meetings allow death with dignity supporters to meet other supporters and advocates, and to hear from guest speakers who provide expertise in a wide range of topics.
Periodic newsletters provide summaries of recent meetings, updates on legislative action, and announcements of future meetings and opportunities for advocacy. To sign up for our newsletter, click on the Subscribe to Newsletter button at the bottom of this page.
The Advocacy Committee consists of a small group of volunteers who develop and conduct advocacy activities, either alone or in collaboration with other advocacy groups.
The Publicity Committee publicizes our events.
The Programs Committee plans the topics and recruits the speakers for our open, public meetings.
Please join us! To add your name to our list, click on the Subscribe to Newsletter button at the bottom of this page. We do not share our email list with any other organization or individual. And do let us know if you’d like to join a committee and work to support our organization.
